Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #20

Here's my post for Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. It's been awhile since I've posted anything, kinda in a crafting fog, and it's REALLY frustrating. I really enjoyed making this card, because it has been so long since I've sat down and made a card. This is a fairly simple card, but a bit challenging for me, because this is my first time attempting to tie a bow. I think it came out pretty good. :) What do you think? Well, let's see if I can remember everything I used on this card. Please leave me a comment if you look at my card, I would really appreciate some criticism, that way I can learn from any mistakes I may have made. Thanks!

Stamps: Inkadinkado Dot Flourishes, Studio G $1 stamp (series unknown)

Sweet Treats

I finally got some down time to work on a few projects. I spray painted the little boxes black and they came out great, a really even coat. I had a few dimensional stickers, and I used the little Frankenstein's monster and he is SO adorable! The stamp set that I used on the Pixy Stiks and upcycled Frappuccino bottle is from the Michael's line of stamps called Recollections. The set is called Halloween and has several really pretty stamps. I will be posting these up on my Etsy site. I love the way these turned out and can't wait to make more. Each little box comes with some candy, 2 Pixy stiks, a Halloween pencil and 2 Dum Dums. And inside of the upcycled Frappuccino bottle as the very tasty candy corn made by Hershey's that look like Hershey's kisses.

My Halloween Goodies!!

Check out my new stash! I got a little happy with my Halloween shopping and purchased all these goodies. I have ribbon, cardstock, stamps, rhinestones, and wooden boxes to make cute little goody boxes I saw on Kerry's Paper Craft Blog (BTW, I LOVE her blog!!!). I can't wait to get into everything and make some great projects for Halloween. I shop locally, so everything was purchased at Michael's, Hobby Lobby or JoAnn's. If you can tell by the photo, I have quite a few $1 stamps that I purchased from JoAnn's. I LOVE THE $1 STAMPS!! They are so versatile and you can't beat a dollar. So, check back again the future for some of the projects I will be creating with my new goodies.

2 Challenges in One

Time management is very important when you have to work, are married and have children to take care of. I decided to combine two weekly challenges into one card. I actually found this to be little bit more difficult than I had presumed. I was forced to deal with a specific color palette and a design. But it was fun and they are called challenges. So, I combined Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge and Lauren's My Time to Create Inspiration Challenge. Be sure to check out the links to their blogs to see the color and sketch challenge.

Mojo Monday #98

Happy Monday! I have always liked Mondays; it feels like a fresh new start and I get to look forward to the start of a new week. I just checked out the Mojo Monday blog and got a chance to peep at the new sketch for this week. I love the Mojo Monday sketch. It really helps me to get my "mojo" going. I immediately knew what direction I wanted to take my card. Here's the sketch, but I have to set aside some time to put it together. Check back with me later to see what I come up with.

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #13

This is the first time that I have participated in Dawn's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. I am really excited, the colors are really pretty and as soon as saw them, they made me reminiscense of spring. So, I decided to use flowers. The flower stamps are $1 stamps made my Studio G. I just love the dollar stamps at JoAnn's! To get the color just right for the flower and the flower stems, I cut the stems off the flowers, so I could stamp a little easier. If you are going to do this, I recommend that you use an X-acto knife, you get a much cleaner cut and you are less likely to ruin your stamp. Well, I hope you like the card and this will hopefully be first of many Raspberry Suite Color Challenges I will participate in.

VERY BUSY!!

It has been over a month since my last post. I must make a promise to myself to post more often to my blog. I love to craft and whatever time I have left in my day, I craft. It's very difficult for me to craft, take photos, load photos to computer, crop and resize photos, type a description in my blog and put up the photo. I'm such a perfectionist and it really makes it difficult for me to get things done in a timely fashion. So, enough of my own pity party. This will me the last time that allow this to happen. No more waiting to the last minute. :)

The Loss of a Legand

Today, the world lost one of the most influential people to our musical history. Michael Jackson will be greatly missed by many so many people, young and old. I will certainly make certain that my children with know the music and the man. Please keep his family in your prayers and promise to never forget! WE MISS YOU MICHAEL!!!

Starlight Drive-In Theater

This past Friday, my family and I went to the Starlight Drive-In Theater. It was great. This was the first time I had actually been to a drive-in. It felt so nostalgic. If you live in the Atlanta area, you should definitely make a trip to check it out. But be warned, if you go on the weekend, be sure to allow yourself about 30 minutes before the start of your movie to get in, because the lines get long, quick. Here's the website: www.starlightdrivein.com

Weekly Color Inspiration

I love Kristina Werner's blog. I visit almost everyday and check out the new things that she has going on. She does a weekly color inspiration challenge, but I have never actually participated in the challenge. So, I figured, new blog, new challenges. I'm going to give it a go and see what I can come up before the deadline of the post, which is June 24. The colors are gorgeous and I'm pretty sure I will be able to come up with some creative.

MY FIRST POST!!!

Ok, this weird... I love to blog hop, checking out what's going on in other people's lives and getting inspiration. I visit several blogs a day and now have my own blog. I can't believe this! I am so excited and I am really looking forward to being able to meet many new people and make some friends who have the same interests as myself. So, here goes... WELCOME TO SAYDIE PAPER CRAFTS.
